Speaking with reporters after a closed-door meeting, the governor described his conversation with Tinubu as a “father-and-son” dialogue focused on consolidating peace and stability in Rivers.

“You are aware that the suspension was lifted at midnight on the 17th, and I resumed office on the 19th,” Fubara explained. “I came to inform Mr. President that I am back and fully resuming my responsibilities as governor of Rivers State. It was also an opportunity to thank him and seek his guidance on how to avoid another crisis.”

The visit comes amid efforts to restore calm in Rivers State after months of political turbulence.
