Troops Repel ISWAP Attack on Gajigana, One CJTF Member Injured
Troops of the Nigerian Army under Operation HADIN KAI have repelled an overnight attack by suspected Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists on Gajigana town, Magumeri LGA, Borno State.
According to security sources, the insurgents stormed the community at about 1:30 a.m. on Saturday, targeting a Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) post.

“There was a fierce exchange of gunfire between the terrorists and a combined team of troops who responded promptly to reinforce the town’s defence,” one military source confirmed.
The attack was repelled, and the terrorists reportedly suffered unspecified casualties, as traces of blood were seen along their withdrawal routes. Normalcy has since been restored in the area.
However, a CJTF operative, Mr. Bulama Ngala (45), sustained gunshot injuries from stray bullets during the clash. He was evacuated to the General Hospital, Gajigana, where he is said to be responding well to treatment.
