As the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers continue, the list of the top five highest-paid African national team coaches has been released — with Vladimir Petkovic, head coach of Algeria, topping the chart.
According to Sporty TV, the 62-year-old Bosnian-Herzegovinian tactician earns a staggering €1.6 million annually, making him the highest-paid coach on the continent. Petkovic recently led Algeria to secure their spot at the World Cup after a convincing 3–0 victory over Somalia.

He is followed by Aliou Cisse, coach of Libya, and Hugo Broos, coach of South Africa — both reportedly earning €912,000 each.
