Daniel Bwala, Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Policy Communication, has said that the president’s son, Seyi Tinubu, is eligible to run for any political office in Nigeria—even against his father in the 2027 general elections.
Speaking on The Clarity Zone podcast, which aired on YouTube on Wednesday, Bwala dismissed suggestions that Seyi’s political visibility stems solely from his father’s influence.

“If Seyi Tinubu’s father is the president, what stops him from running for Lagos State governor? Seyi Tinubu can even challenge his father in the next election,” Bwala stated.
He described Seyi as a bridge-builder among young people and argued that his reputation is independent of his family background.
Bwala further urged Nigerians to evaluate Seyi Tinubu based on personal character and experience, not inherited perceptions, portraying him as humble and unassuming despite his privileged upbringing.
