The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has announced a planned four-day power outage affecting Lekki, Ikoyi, Jakande, and surrounding areas of Lagos State.
The company’s spokesperson, Ndidi Mbah, disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday, noting that the outage will occur on October 11, 12, 18, and 19, 2025, and will last for eight hours daily, from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
According to TCN, the blackout is part of preventive maintenance work on its Ajah/Lekki 330 kV transmission line (scheduled for October 11) and the Ajah/Alagbon 330 kV line (scheduled for October 12, 18, and 19).
“The maintenance on the Ajah/Lekki 330kV line will enable TCN’s contractor to install a transformer protective system on the 300MVA 330/132/33kV power transformer at the Alagbon Transmission Substation,” the statement read.

The company also stated that its maintenance team will replace corroded insulators on critical towers of both transmission lines during the period.
TCN apologized for the expected inconvenience, assuring customers that the planned work is essential to enhance network reliability and prevent future breakdowns.
“We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause electricity customers in Lekki, Ikoyi, Jakande, and surrounding areas during this period,” the company added.
The announcement comes a few months after Eko and Ikeja Electricity Distribution Companies declared a 25-day blackout in parts of Lagos in July 2025.
