Human rights activist and 2023 African Action Congress (AAC) presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, has taken a swipe at Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, branding him “one of the worst governors in Nigeria.”
Sowore, founder of the #TakeItBack movement, made the remarks over the weekend via his verified social media page while reacting to a viral clip of Aiyedatiwa dancing energetically at an event in Akure, the state capital.

According to Sowore, Aiyedatiwa’s leadership lacks direction and substance. “One of the worst governors Nigeria has ever had is Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State, not because he’s dancing, but because he has nothing to offer—empty and fleeting, just like the dance itself,” he wrote.
The comment quickly drew a response from Yomi Oyekan, an aide to the governor, who dismissed Sowore’s criticism as a desperate bid for attention.
“Mr. Sowore, let’s drop the delusion. You thrive on spectacle, not substance. Your track record is filled with arrests, hashtags, failed protests, and embarrassing election outings. That is the sum of your political journey—loud, thin, and irrelevant. History has already graded you, and you failed the test,” Oyekan countered.
