The Ogun State Police Command has announced a movement restriction across Ikenne, Sagamu, and Remo North Federal Constituency from 12:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 16, as part of security measures for the constituency’s by-election.

Addressing officers on election duty at the Command Headquarters in Eleweran, Commissioner of Police Lanre Ogunlowo emphasized professionalism, civility, and neutrality in carrying out assignments. He noted that the command, working in collaboration with other security agencies and with reinforcements from Zone 2 Command, Lagos, has prepared robust security arrangements to prevent electoral violence and guarantee safety before, during, and after the polls.

Voters were reminded to comply with electoral regulations, with Ogunlowo warning that activities such as campaigning, vote-buying, distributing flyers, or displaying political stickers at polling areas are strictly prohibited.

“We appeal for the cooperation of all voters and urge individuals with malicious intentions to stay away from polling units. Any attempt to disrupt the process will be met with decisive action,” the police commissioner stated.
