The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the judiciary, and security agencies to uphold patriotism and professionalism in facilitating a peaceful and credible 2025 National Convention.
In a statement issued on Saturday by the PDP Media Sub-Committee for the convention, the party expressed concerns that the All Progressives Congress (APC) might exploit judicial processes to delay or derail the exercise.
While expressing confidence in the leadership of the new INEC Chairman, Prof. Joash Amupitan, the PDP said it would continue to closely monitor the commission’s actions before, during, and after the convention, scheduled for November 15–16 in Ibadan, Oyo State.

“These concerns are not without basis. Given the APC’s track record, the risk of inter- and intra-party actors attempting to disrupt our November convention cannot be ignored,” the statement noted.
It added, “Both overt and covert elements, operating within and outside the PDP, are prepared to advance the selfish interests of their APC sponsors. They should be reminded that justice will eventually catch up with them.”
