Panathinaikos are pushing to sign Rangers striker Cyriel Dessers before the summer transfer window closes on Monday.

Dessers’ future at Ibrox remains uncertain, with Rangers boss Russell Martin declining to confirm whether the Nigerian forward will still be at the club after the deadline.

Earlier this summer, rivals AEK Athens tabled a €4.5 million offer for the 30-year-old, which was turned down by Rangers. Reports suggested Dessers had already agreed personal terms with AEK at the time.

Now, Panathinaikos are hoping to lure the former Feyenoord man with the promise of Champions League football, a major attraction that could sway the deal.

Dessers, who finished last season as the Scottish Premiership’s top scorer with 18 goals, remains one of Rangers’ key assets, making the final days of the transfer window crucial in deciding his future.
