Former Ekiti State governor and PDP chieftain, Ayodele Fayose, has expressed confidence that Governor Biodun Oyebanji will break his own electoral record of winning all 16 local government areas in the state — and go even further.
Fayose said Oyebanji is poised to win across all 177 wards in the next election, citing the show of political strength during the governor’s nomination form submission in Abuja on Wednesday.
“The governor will not only break my record of 16–0, he will surpass it by winning all the 177 wards,” Fayose declared.
The former governor pointed to the high-profile politicians who accompanied Oyebanji to Abuja as evidence that there is “no vacancy in Ekiti Government House until 2030.”

Although a member of the opposition PDP, Fayose reiterated his support for Oyebanji and President Bola Tinubu, stressing that he owes no one an apology for his stance.
“By the power of God, he will not only be the one to beat my record of winning in the 16 LGAs of the state, he will also sweep all the wards,” he said.
He advised Oyebanji to remain focused on delivering governance and dividends of democracy to the people of Ekiti, while dismissing critics as “a mere storm in a teacup.”
