Former Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom has reiterated his commitment to revitalizing the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the state with the aim of regaining power in the 2027 general elections.

Ortom made the declaration over the weekend in Makurdi, the state capital, while hosting members of the PDP G-14 and other influential stakeholders from the 14 Local Government Areas in Zones A and B Senatorial Districts.

Addressing rumors of a possible defection, the former governor dismissed claims by what he called “mischief makers,” emphasizing his loyalty to the party and expressing confidence that the PDP will emerge stronger and more united ahead of the upcoming polls.

He urged party members to remain committed to rebuilding the PDP in Benue, noting that while he will not be contesting any position, he will actively support PDP candidates at all levels.

Ortom also advised aspiring politicians to conduct thorough consultations and not be discouraged by ongoing defections to the ruling party.

“I am not planning to leave the PDP. I remain loyal, and with commitment and dedication, we will reclaim Benue come 2027,” he stated.
