The Ogun State Internal Revenue Service (OGIRS) has begun a statewide tax enforcement campaign aimed at improving residents’ compliance with tax laws and boosting the state’s Internally Generated Revenue (IGR).
The agency’s Executive Chairman, Mr. Olugbenga Olaleye, announced the initiative on Friday, explaining that the enforcement drive, which kicked off earlier in the week, targets corporate organizations, business premises, and institutions that have repeatedly ignored tax obligations despite multiple notifications and reminders.
Olaleye emphasized that tax compliance is not only a civic responsibility but also a major funding source for critical government services, including infrastructure, education, healthcare, and other public development projects. He urged businesses and organizations across the state to regularize their tax records with OGIRS.
