The Obidient Movement has thrown its weight behind George Moghalu as the Labour Party (LP) candidate in the upcoming Anambra governorship election scheduled for November 8, 2025.
The endorsement was announced in a statement on Tuesday by Yunusa Tanko, National Coordinator of the movement, who described Moghalu as a steadfast advocate for the masses long neglected by decades of poor governance, nepotism, and corruption.
According to Tanko, Moghalu’s candidacy also enjoys the full support of former LP presidential flagbearer, Peter Obi.
“We declare, without reservation, our absolute endorsement of Dr. George Moghalu as the Labour Party’s gubernatorial candidate for Anambra State in the November 8 election,” the statement read in part.

Tanko emphasized that with Anambra’s 2.8 million registered voters spread across 21 LGAs, the Labour Party is confident of securing victory at the polls. He praised Moghalu’s commitment to accountability, empathy, and people-centered leadership, qualities he said reflect the aspirations of both Anambra residents and Nigerians at large.
He urged members of the Obidient Movement and Labour Party faithful to rally behind Moghalu, noting that the campaign represents not just a political contest, but a turning point for the state.
