The Lagos State Police Command, Ikeja Division, has arrested a suspected “one chance” kingpin and two members of his gang during a patrol along Agege Motor Road.
The suspects — Bode Oludayisin, Michael Sowunmi, and David Olawaye — were nabbed after a victim raised an alarm while being attacked inside their commercial minibus.
Police disclosed that one of the suspects had long been on the wanted list as leader of a violent syndicate behind several “one chance” robberies across Lagos.
Acting swiftly, officers intercepted the gang’s unregistered minibus, which they allegedly used for operations. A search led to the recovery of a Tecno Spark 20 phone belonging to a victim, an axe, two concrete interlock bricks, heavy stones used to assault victims, and a broken bottle. The items have been recorded as evidence.
Investigations so far indicate that the syndicate operated by posing as regular passengers inside Korope minibuses, before robbing unsuspecting commuters.
