Two kidnap victims have been rescued in Kebbi State following a joint operation by police officers, vigilantes, and local hunters in Danko/Wasagu Local Government Area.
According to the State Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Nafi’u Abubakar, the rescue took place on Friday near Dankade village after a prolonged gun battle with bandits. The operation was led by the Divisional Police Officer of Ribah, who, along with the joint security team, reportedly subdued the attackers after several hours of confrontation.

The victims were identified as Tukur Bello, 26, from Kembawa village in Augie LGA, Kebbi State, and Isyaka Abubakar, 25, from Budun village in Gummi LGA, Zamfara State. They had been abducted on August 9 while tending cattle in Gairi forest, Zamfara.
Police confirmed that both men were freed unharmed, taken to a hospital for medical evaluation, and subsequently reunited with their families.
