The Kano State Police Command has announced the arrest of 107 suspects in August 2025 for crimes ranging from armed robbery and kidnapping to human trafficking, drug trafficking, and theft.
Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, disclosed this during a press briefing on Monday.
He noted that officers recovered an array of items during the operations, including an AK-47 rifle, seven locally fabricated guns, 11 rounds of live ammunition, motor vehicles, motorcycles, cows, cutlasses, knives, and significant quantities of illicit drugs.
Providing a broader update, CP Bakori revealed that since the launch of Operation Kukan Kura on July 1, 2025, the Command has seized 473 dangerous weapons alongside large stockpiles of narcotics.
He urged residents to remain vigilant and report crimes or suspicious activities promptly, either at the nearest police station or via the Command’s emergency hotlines.
