Financial advisor and educator, Kalu Aja, has alleged that the Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) is holding Nigerians to ransom amid its ongoing dispute with the Dangote Refinery.

The comment comes as the Department of State Services (DSS) intervened once again to prevent a breakdown of the truce earlier signed by both parties.

In a post on X on Saturday, Aja criticised NUPENG’s reported threat to embark on strike after the Dangote Group declined to join the union.

“A union NUPENG is on strike because a private company Dangote has refused to join their private union. When I say NUPENG holds Nigerians to ransom, this is my evidence,” Aja wrote.

DAILY POST earlier reported that Dangote Group and NUPENG signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the DSS Headquarters in Abuja, allowing refinery workers the freedom to join any union of their choice without interference.
