The Jigawa State House of Assembly has approved a ₦75 billion supplementary budget for the 2025 fiscal year.
The bill’s passage came on Thursday during plenary, presided over by Deputy Speaker Sani Isyaku Abubakar, after lawmakers adopted the report of the House Committee on Appropriation.
Committee Chairman Ibrahim Hamza Adamu explained that the supplementary package includes ₦58 billion for state-level spending and ₦17.109 billion earmarked for the state’s 27 local government councils.

According to the Deputy Speaker, the additional funds will be directed toward key areas such as infrastructure, healthcare delivery, youth empowerment, and other social services.
Governor Umar Namadi had originally presented a ₦698.3 billion budget for 2025 in December last year. With this new approval, the state’s total budget now rises to ₦756.3 billion.
Lawmakers said the supplementary allocation will boost ongoing projects and accelerate development across education, healthcare, agriculture, infrastructure, and other critical sectors.
