IPMAN Rolls Out New Directive on Dangote Fuel

The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) has directed its members to complete registration with Dangote Refinery ahead of the refinery’s nationwide fuel distribution scheme, set to begin on Monday, September 15, 2025.

The directive was issued in a statement jointly signed by IPMAN President, Abubakar Maigandi, and Secretary, James Tor, over the weekend.

This follows Dangote Refinery’s announcement last Thursday that it would commence large-scale distribution of fuel across Nigeria, with reduced retail prices.

IPMAN emphasized that members who have already registered with the refinery should proceed with payments in readiness for product loading. “On Monday, 15th September 2025, the company will begin supplying petroleum products directly to buyers’ locations nationwide,” the statement read. The association also urged unregistered members to finalize their registration immediately.

However, the move has not been welcomed by all stakeholders. The Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG), the Depot and Petroleum Products Marketers Association of Nigeria (DAPPMAN), and the Petroleum Products Retail Outlets Owners Association of Nigeria (PETROAN) have all criticized the arrangement, describing it as a “Greek gift” to Nigerians.
