Ebonyi to Train Aviation Staff Ahead of Airport Launch – Obichukwu

Ebonyi State Commissioner for Aviation and Transport Technology, Mrs. Ngozi Obichukwu, has announced that preparations are underway for staff training at the Chuba Okadigbo International Airport, along with the installation and commissioning of air traffic lights.

Speaking to journalists in Abakaliki on Tuesday following her appearance before the State House of Assembly’s Public Accounts Committee, Obichukwu commended Governor Francis Nwifuru for his strong dedication to ensuring the airport operates at full capacity.

She expressed appreciation for the legislative oversight, saying, “I feel encouraged whenever we’re called upon like this. It’s a reminder that our actions are being observed — that we must remain transparent, accountable, and mindful of the trust placed in us.”

Speaking to reporters in Abakaliki on Tuesday following her appearance before the State House of Assembly’s Public Accounts Committee, Obichukwu praised Governor Francis Nwifuru for his steadfast commitment to ensuring the airport becomes fully operational and efficient.

“I always feel encouraged when we’re invited for oversight engagements like this,” she said. “It reminds us that our work is being closely monitored, and it pushes us to remain transparent, prudent, and accountable.”

Obichukwu also noted that the committee acknowledged the aviation ministry’s complexity and its capital-intensive nature. “They even recognized that aviation is one of the most demanding ministries financially,” she added. “Though the results may not be immediate, the impact will unfold over time.”
