Governors elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have called on the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) to adopt dialogue as the best means of resolving its grievances with the Federal Government.
The appeal was made at the end of a two-day meeting of the Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF), held in Birnin Kebbi, Kebbi State, from October 16 to 17, 2025.

Reading the communiqué after the meeting, the Forum’s Chairman and Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, emphasized that negotiation remains the most effective approach to settling disputes in the education sector.
He urged ASUU members to return to the negotiation table in the interest of the nation’s educational system.
The governors also discussed ways to enhance coordination among federal, state, and local governments, stressing that improved collaboration is essential for inclusive national development.
