APC Members Defect to ADC in Sokoto Amid Growing Discontent
A wave of defections has hit the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Gada Local Government Area of Sokoto State, as several members officially crossed over to the African Democratic Congress (ADC) on Sunday.
The new entrants were received by Senator Abubakar Gada, a key ADC leader, who described the move as evidence of dwindling confidence in the APC-led government.
Gada said communities in Sokoto East and beyond are reeling from insecurity and economic hardship, which have crippled farming, worsened unemployment, and deepened hunger.

“Our people are battling serious security threats that have destroyed farming, our main source of income. This has caused poverty, unemployment, and hunger in our communities,” he lamented.
He noted that the rising number of defections to ADC reflects Nigerians’ growing desire for real change.
“Many Nigerians are coming to ADC because they believe in our mission to rescue the country. The APC government’s poor performance has forced people to look for hope elsewhere, and ADC is providing that option,” Gada added.
