The Chairman of the Caretaker Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Enugu State, Dr. Ben Nwoye, has described the recent dissolution of the Ward and Local Government executive committees as a strategic step to rebuild and strengthen the party.
The dissolution was announced at the end of a critical stakeholders’ meeting held on Sunday in the Enugu West Senatorial District.
Speaking to journalists on Monday in Enugu, Nwoye explained that the decision aligns with a directive from the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) and followed extensive consultations with key stakeholders at both national and state levels.
He emphasized that the move is designed to create space for a more inclusive and vibrant leadership structure, capable of revitalizing the party’s grassroots presence.
Nwoye noted that in recent years, the APC in Enugu has faced internal divisions, factionalism, and leadership disputes, which weakened its political influence.

“This dissolution is not a punishment; rather, it is a strategic move to rebuild the APC in Enugu State from the bottom up,” he said.
“We want a party structure that truly represents the interests of our members — one that is inclusive, transparent, and accountable.”
He added that the development will enable the party to forge a unified front ahead of future elections, ensuring stronger internal cohesion and better electoral performance.
