North-Central APC Hails Tinubu Over Appointment of New INEC Chairman, Prof. Amupitan

The North-Central All Progressives Congress (APC) Forum has applauded President Bola Tinubu for appointing Professor Joash Ojo Amupitan as the new Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The Forum’s commendation was contained in a statement released on Saturday in Abuja by its Chairman, Saleh Zazzaga, who also praised the National Council of State for endorsing the appointment.

Zazzaga expressed confidence in Professor Amupitan’s ability to deliver credible, free, and fair elections across the country during his tenure, describing the appointment as a recognition of the North-Central region’s pool of highly qualified professionals.

“Professor Amupitan’s track record as a legal scholar, practitioner, and university administrator shows his capacity to deliver on the mandate of INEC,” Zazzaga stated.

He noted that Amupitan’s experience and integrity make him well-suited for the role, adding that the Forum views the appointment as a strategic step towards strengthening Nigeria’s democratic institutions.

The Forum called on Nigerians, particularly political stakeholders, to support the new INEC chairman in his efforts to enhance transparency and reinforce the credibility of the electoral process nationwide.
