South African rapper David Junior Ngcobo, better known as Nasty C, has revealed plans to change his stage name, admitting that it has no real meaning.

In an interview with Madame Joyce in London, the “Coolest Kid in Africa” hitmaker explained that the name was created randomly.

“It’s just random. I put some letters together, made words out of them, and picked that one. Honestly, it doesn’t mean anything,” he said.

Nasty C also confessed that he once fabricated a backstory about being nicknamed “Nasty Cat” by his first producer, claiming he had dropped the “AT” to form “Nasty C.” He said the story was made up simply to give his name a narrative and to acknowledge someone who supported his early career.

“My stage name is just a vibe. I want to change it now,” he added.
