The Zamfara State chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Tukur Danfulani, has dismissed former senator Kabiru Marafa’s recent criticisms of President Bola Tinubu, attributing them to frustration over political setbacks.

In a statement on Thursday, Danfulani claimed Marafa’s attacks were driven by bitterness after failing to secure a federal appointment and losing his electoral bid. He accused the ex-lawmaker of selfishness and irrelevance within Zamfara politics.

“We challenge Marafa to return to Zamfara and reassess his popularity among the electorate. He will bury himself in shame,” Danfulani said.

He further described Marafa’s comments as the outburst of a “rejected politician,” stressing that the APC would not have responded if the former senator had not directly attacked President Tinubu.

Danfulani also mocked Marafa’s claim that he could reduce Tinubu’s votes by one million in the 2027 elections, pointing to his past failures at the polls. “Apart from being disgraced out of the Senate in 2019, Marafa could not even win his constituency in 2023. The votes came because of the faith people have in the APC and respected leaders like Matawalle and Yari, not because of him,” he added.
