PDP to INEC: Respect Zamfara Voters’ Choice

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has declared that it will reject any outcome of the Kaura Namoda South State Constituency re-run election in Zamfara State that does not reflect the will of the electorate.

Speaking to journalists on Wednesday, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, condemned the conduct of the poll, alleging that the PDP had already secured a clear victory before the election was controversially declared inconclusive in five polling units.

Ologunagba argued that the decision was part of a calculated attempt to give an advantage to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), warning that such actions amounted to subverting the democratic process.

He urged both Nigerians and the international community to closely monitor the situation, accusing the APC of trying to impose its will on the people through force and manipulation.

“The PDP and the people of Zamfara will not recognize any result that runs contrary to the choice already expressed at the polls,” Ologunagba said. “We therefore call on President Bola Tinubu to immediately intervene and halt this plot by the APC to undermine democracy and override the people’s sovereign mandate.”

The PDP spokesperson further insisted that Zamfara remains a PDP stronghold, stressing that the electorate stands firmly behind the party and the state governor, Dauda Lawal.
