The All Progressives Congress (APC) has mourned the passing of Mama Lydia Yilwatda, mother of its National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, describing her death as a great loss to the party and community.
In a statement issued on Monday, the APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, paid tribute to Mama Lydia, recalling her as a humble, virtuous, and compassionate woman widely admired for her generosity and commitment to service within her family, church, and community.

“We received with deep shock and sadness the news of the passing of Mama Lydia Yilwatda,” the statement read. “She was a devout Christian and a leader whose contributions to the growth of the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN) were immeasurable. Her passing is a colossal loss not only to her family and community but to the APC family at large.”
Morka extended the party’s condolences to the Yilwatda family, the COCIN church, the people of Plateau State, and all who were touched by her life, while praying for her peaceful repose.
Earlier reports confirmed that Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, who currently serves as APC’s National Chairman, lost his mother over the weekend.
