Simi Calls for Punishment of Airport Staff Who Leaked Ibom Air Passenger Video

Nigerian singer Simi has demanded disciplinary action against airport staff responsible for leaking a video showing Ibom Air passenger Comfort Emmanson in a state of undress during her removal from a flight.

In an Instagram story, Simi questioned why Emmanson faced punishment for her behaviour while those who filmed and shared the footage—without blurring her private parts—were not being held accountable.

“Someone recorded her being dragged off the plane, exposed like that, and then posted it without editing or blurring the footage,” Simi wrote. “I want to know who posted that video and why no one is holding them accountable. They should face the law.”

The singer described the act as a gross invasion of privacy, adding that it deserved sanctions just as much as Emmanson’s own misconduct.

“You cannot condemn one madness and leave another,” she said.

Emmanson, a passenger on Ibom Air Flight Q153, was removed from the aircraft after allegedly refusing to switch off her phone before takeoff. The incident escalated into a confrontation with crew and ground staff, and video of the altercation quickly went viral on social media.
