Edu LG Supports Families of Fallen Anti-Kidnapping Operatives with Monthly Stipend
In a move to honor the sacrifices of security operatives who died combating kidnapping, Edu Local Government Area of Kwara State has announced a monthly support package for their families.
A total of 27 families from the Lafiagi, Shonga, and Tsaragi Emirates will each receive a monthly stipend of ₦50,000, as confirmed by the council chairman, Abdullahi Bello Ndamangoro.
The announcement was made during the Firdau prayers held in memory of the fallen heroes, who lost their lives in armed confrontations with kidnappers while defending their communities.

The Edu Local Government Area of Kwara State has unveiled a monthly stipend initiative to support families of security operatives who died in the fight against kidnapping across the region.

A total of 27 families from the three emirates of Lafiagi, Shonga, and Tsaragi are set to receive ₦50,000 monthly, as announced by the council chairman, Abdullahi Bello Ndamangoro, during Firdau prayers held in honor of the fallen heroes.
These operatives lost their lives during fierce gun battles while defending their communities from kidnappers.
In a statement on Tuesday, Ndamangoro expressed deep condolences to the grieving families, particularly those from the Lafiagi Emirate, acknowledging the ultimate sacrifice made by the late operatives.
“May their souls rest in peace, and may Allah grant them Al-Jannah Firdaus. We pray for comfort and strength for the families they left behind,” he said.
He further explained that the stipends have already been allocated to councilors representing each ward across the three emirates. These councilors are tasked with delivering the funds to the verified beneficiaries.
“This monthly support will continue throughout the tenure of our administration. Though it may not cover all their needs, it is a gesture of recognition and solidarity with those left behind,” Ndamangoro added.
He also extended appreciation to the Governor of Kwara State, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, for his continued efforts in enhancing the security and welfare of the people of Edu Local Government Area.
