Atiku Predicts ADC-Led Coalition Will Unseat APC in 2027

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has expressed confidence that the opposition coalition anchored by the African Democratic Congress (ADC) is on track to wrest power from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections.

Speaking through his representative, Professor Bayode Fakunle, at the official inauguration of the ADC Executive Council in Ekiti State, Atiku noted that the rapid rise of the coalition has already unsettled rival parties. He highlighted that within just three weeks of the ADC’s adoption as a central platform by the alliance, other political groups have begun to show signs of unease.

The event, held over the weekend in Ado Ekiti, marks a key moment in the coalition’s expansion efforts across the country as it positions itself as a formidable political force ahead of the next election cycle.

Atiku, represented by Professor Bayode Fakunle, made this assertion during the inauguration of the Ekiti State chapter of the ADC Executive Council over the weekend in Ado Ekiti.

He emphasized that the swift momentum of the newly embraced coalition has already rattled rival political parties. According to him, the ADC’s emergence just three weeks ago has triggered anxiety across the political landscape, as it rapidly gains ground and public support.

“The ADC was only launched about three weeks ago, and within just two weeks, it has already become a dominant force. Other parties are clearly becoming uneasy,” he noted.

Atiku stressed that the ADC is a platform for all Nigerians, promising an inclusive movement committed to reshaping the nation’s political future. He firmly rejected the idea of Nigeria evolving into a one-party state, assuring citizens that the ADC would stand as a credible alternative to the ruling APC.

“The ADC welcomes everyone with open arms. It’s a people-driven party that will redefine Nigeria’s political direction. By the grace of God, we will take the reins of leadership in 2027,” he declared.

The ADC, which was officially introduced only a few weeks ago, has attracted a number of prominent political figures. The party has openly committed to challenging the APC’s grip on power in the next election cycle.

Amid growing speculation, there are increasing indications that Atiku may once again seek the presidency—this time possibly under the ADC platform.
