The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State has dismissed recent political maneuvers by the African Democratic Congress (ADC), asserting that such tactics will not distract the ruling party from its goals and strategic direction.
In a statement, APC spokesperson Mr. Seye Oladejo criticized the ADC—recently embraced by some opposition figures ahead of the 2027 elections—labeling it a failed political experiment that lacks viability from the outset.
He argued that the coalition was devoid of structure, public trust, and grassroots backing, dismissing it as an artificial alliance lacking both depth and legitimacy.
Oladejo dismissed the ADC’s recent rebranding efforts as nothing more than recycled slogans from political opportunists lacking a clear vision, ideology, or electoral weight.
He said the Lagos APC had observed the recent statements and grandstanding by the ADC and its coalition of political actors, describing them as individuals merely seeking attention in the democratic space.
According to him, the ADC has repeatedly failed to define its role within Nigeria’s political landscape and continues to operate without clear purpose or direction.
He characterized the party as a gathering point for disenchanted politicians who prefer political shortcuts over sincere engagement with the electorate or meaningful public service.
Oladejo said their bid to position themselves as a viable alternative lacks substance, public trust, and widespread support—branding it a transparent and desperate effort to remain relevant.
At a time when Nigeria is undergoing tough but necessary reforms, he stressed that true patriots should focus on constructive contributions rather than adding to the noise.
“Unfortunately, what the ADC offers is a disjointed chorus of envy and baseless criticism—devoid of clarity, relevance, or impact,” he added.
He concluded by affirming that the APC in Lagos remains a stronghold of progressive leadership, committed to delivering responsible governance and unshaken by distractions.
Oladejo reaffirmed the APC’s dedication to backing ongoing national reforms and fully aligning with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda.
He pointed out that several individuals within the so-called coalition continue to maintain ties with their original political parties, revealing a lack of genuine commitment to their new alliance.
“This is nothing short of political bigamy—an intentional effort to deceive the Nigerian people,” he stated.
Oladejo emphasized the importance of political ethics, insisting that all parties must operate with transparency, integrity, and accountability at all times.
Oladejo asserted that the APC remains focused and undeterred by fleeting alliances or political theatrics with no long-term value.
He reiterated the party’s dedication to honoring its mandate and providing real, measurable progress for the Nigerian people.
He encouraged citizens to look beyond empty political arrangements driven by personal ambition, and instead demand authentic leadership grounded in vision and substance.
“The path forward depends on proven leadership, coherent policy direction, and a commitment to national cohesion — qualities the ADC clearly lacks,” he said.
