The government has earmarked ₦2 billion to boost the 2025 farming season by supplying vital agricultural inputs to farmers.

Through the 300 Hectares per LGA Food Security Initiative, young people across all 21 Local Government Areas are being granted access to farmland and free farming resources, aiming to strengthen local food production and self-sufficiency.

The revival of agricultural extension services and the scaling up of irrigation infrastructure have led to notable improvements in crop productivity and strengthened food security throughout the state.

Under Governor Fintiri’s leadership, rural road construction and better access to markets have become key priorities, aimed at increasing agricultural output and raising farmers’ earnings.

Adamawa State has entered into a strategic collaboration between ADAS-P and Aluvia Agriculture to accelerate the growth of agribusiness across the region.

As part of this partnership, a 100-hectare soybean demonstration project has been launched in Demsa Local Government Area to showcase modern farming techniques.

In Kiri, Toungo LGA, a 400-hectare oil palm plantation has been established, emphasizing community involvement and long-term environmental and economic sustainability.

To empower smallholder farmers, the government has distributed free agricultural inputs—including irrigation pumps, fertilizers, and advanced farming tools.

A comprehensive pest control campaign was initiated across the state, starting in Demsa LGA, to safeguard critical crops from pest outbreaks and minimize losses.

With continued investment in agriculture, Adamawa State is projected to yield 220 million bags of grain and generate an estimated ₦36 billion in internally generated revenue over the next ten years.

The Greening Greater Yola initiative is driving climate resilience and environmental restoration through large-scale tree planting and reforestation efforts.

Adamawa State is actively rolling out the National Livestock Transformation Plan to modernize and improve livestock production across the region.

A pilot model ranch has been launched at the Gongoshi Grazing Reserve to demonstrate sustainable and well-managed livestock systems.

The government is placing strong emphasis on restoring and upgrading grazing reserves to enhance animal productivity and restore ecological balance.

These rehabilitated reserves now feature essential infrastructure such as water facilities, veterinary care, and improved road access to support efficient livestock operations.

Gongoshi Reserve has become a benchmark for integrated ranching, serving as a template for future livestock development in the state.

The Mubi Livestock Market remains a critical economic hub, handling over 29 million animals annually and contributing roughly ₦29 billion to the state’s economy.

Recent infrastructure upgrades at livestock markets have strengthened the sector’s capacity and boosted overall revenue generation.

Ongoing policy reforms and engagement with stakeholders have significantly reduced tensions between farmers and herders, promoting lasting peace in rural communities.

By investing in well-structured ranching and revitalizing grazing reserves, the government has eased the strain on farmland and minimized land-use conflicts.

In January 2025, the state extended vital support to over 23,000 livestock farmers, providing them with tools, feed, and essential equipment to boost their productivity.

Over the next ten years, Adamawa is expected to produce close to 30 million livestock animals, fueling substantial growth in the agricultural economy.

The administration has also introduced the 300-Hectare-Per-LGA Cluster Farming Program, grouping farmers and providing them with fully prepared land, high-yield seeds, fertilizers, herbicides, and expert agronomic support. Phase One of the program is already underway in Ganye, Demsa, Hong, Michika, Madagali, and Maiha LGAs.
