KADUNA — Backers of ex-Governors Bello Matawalle and Abdulazeez Yari have brushed off the rising anti-Tinubu coalition, calling it a meaningless effort that lacks impact and squanders both time and resources.

KADUNA — During the inauguration of the North-West zonal and state executives of the Shehi and Matawalle Project for Tinubu’s 2027 second-term campaign, supporters reaffirmed their firm backing for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid.

The group dismissed the emerging political alliance between Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, Nasir El-Rufai, and other opposition leaders as ineffective and short-lived. “This alliance is nothing but a futile exercise,” said Auwal Mohammed, the group’s Publicity Secretary. “Nigerians are witnessing the positive impact of Tinubu’s leadership and will not be misled by opposition theatrics.”

He stated that the group’s core mission is to mobilize voters and strengthen grassroots support for President Tinubu’s second term. He pointed to the administration’s ‘Renewed Hope’ agenda as a blueprint already yielding economic and social improvements.

Zonal Coordinator Hon. Babangida Haruna Damba urged newly inaugurated officials to lead the charge in voter education and mobilization, noting Tinubu’s implementation of reforms such as fuel subsidy removal, foreign exchange unification, infrastructure upgrades, and rural electrification.

Zonal Secretary Dr. Ahmad Hashim described the Shehi and Matawalle Project as a strategic political movement committed to ensuring continuity and the consolidation of Tinubu’s governance beyond 2027.

Hashim emphasized that the initiative is firmly rooted in the political legacies and expansive networks of former Governors Bello Matawalle and Abdulazeez Yari, describing them as influential figures and trusted stabilizers in the North-West political landscape.

He highlighted that both leaders have played pivotal roles in Nigeria’s development and maintain strong grassroots backing throughout the North-West.
The occasion signaled the official launch of the group’s campaign efforts to secure President Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.
