Tinubu Wraps Up Saint Lucia Visit, Heads to Brazil for BRICS Summit. President Bola Tinubu has concluded his six-day official visit to Saint Lucia and is en route to Brazil for the second leg of his diplomatic tour.

In Rio de Janeiro, the Nigerian leader is set to participate in the 2025 BRICS Summit, scheduled for July 6–7.

Tinubu’s visit to the Caribbean nation, which began on June 28, ended with a warm send-off at Hewanorra International Airport, where he was seen off by Saint Lucian Prime Minister Philip Pierre.

During his state visit, President Tinubu held individual meetings with Saint Lucia’s Governor General Cyril Charles and Prime Minister Philip Pierre.

On Monday, President Tinubu delivered an address before a special joint session of Saint Lucia’s Senate and House of Assembly at the Sandals Grande venue.

The visit marked a significant milestone, as Nigeria and Saint Lucia officially established diplomatic ties. Both nations also signed a Technical Manpower Assistance agreement, paving the way for the deployment of skilled Nigerian professionals to support development efforts in the Caribbean nation.

In Rio de Janeiro, President Tinubu is among four African heads of state participating in the 17th BRICS Summit.

He will be joined by fellow leaders from Egypt, Ethiopia, and South Africa, as the summit brings together emerging economies for high-level discussions on global cooperation and development.
