President Bola Tinubu held a meeting on Saturday evening with the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, and several prominent figures from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The meeting, which took place at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, was attended by former Ekiti State governor Ayodele Fayose, former Benue State governor Samuel Ortom, and former Abia State governor Okezie Ikpeazu.
According to an anonymous source privy to the meeting said: “Former Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, President Bola Tinubu, former Governors of Benue and Abia States, Samuel Ortom and Okezie Ikpeazu respectively, met at the President at the Presidential Villa, Abuja today.”
Details of the meeting were yet to be disclosed as at press time.
During the Sallah break on June 9, Fayose had visited Tinubu at his Lagos residence.
Addressing journalists after the visit, Fayose said he met with the president to encourage him.
Fayose insists that he always believed in Tinubu’s leadership even while he was a governor elected on the platform of PDP.
The PDP chieftain said Tinubu deserved commendation because he is stabilising the economy.
