Senate Minority Leader, Abba Moro, has hinted that both former Anambra governor Peter Obi and ex-President Goodluck Jonathan could find their way back to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Moro, who represents Benue South, made the revelation during an appearance on Politics Today, a Channels Television programme, on Tuesday.

The lawmaker disclosed that conversations are ongoing with Obi, saying: “Ahead of 2027, I know some people have reached out to Peter Obi, telling him, ‘Come back home, here’s the plan, and if you return, you could emerge as the party’s flagbearer.’”

When asked about Jonathan, Moro confirmed that discussions were also happening, adding: “Yes, some individuals are talking to the former president about running again, and it’s a possibility. Of course, there are those raising concerns over constitutional issues tied to how many times he has been sworn in, but there’s really nothing unconstitutional about it.”

He recalled that similar fears were raised in 2015 when Jonathan sought re-election, but the matter was resolved in court, which cleared him as eligible to contest.
