Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, former National Publicity Secretary of the now-defunct New Peoples Democratic Party (nPDP), has taken a swipe at Ayekooto Akindele, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), over his remarks against opposition figures.
Akindele had criticized Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, and Rotimi Amaechi, claiming that Atiku and Obi had never won any election in Nigeria.
Responding in a statement on Wednesday, Eze dismissed the comments as “utter rubbish, foolish, and a clear display of ignorance,” insisting that neither Atiku nor Obi had ever been part of a truly free and fair election in Nigeria to justify such comparisons.
He further described Akindele’s claims that Amaechi had lost political relevance since his fallout with Nyesom Wike as provocative and misleading, saying it was a ploy to gain cheap attention.

“By making such statements, Akindele only succeeded in exposing his ignorance of Amaechi’s role in Nigeria’s political history,” Eze said.
The former nPDP spokesman argued that Wike himself had publicly acknowledged that Peter Obi secured victory in Rivers State during the last election, though he controversially credited it to Bola Tinubu.
Eze also reminded Akindele that Amaechi had successfully served as Director-General of President Muhammadu Buhari’s campaign, overseeing two victorious presidential bids under the APC.
“Which election did Amaechi lose? Has he contested for any position since leaving office as Governor of Rivers State? If Akindele is referring to the APC presidential primaries, then he needs to understand that what took place was not a genuine election but a charade sold to the highest bidder,” he added.
Eze concluded that Akindele’s remarks were nothing more than a deliberate attempt to distort facts and should not be taken seriously by the public.
