Atiku May Exit ADC if Jonathan Joins, Says Former PDP Spokesman

Former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Diran Odeyemi, has hinted that former Vice President Atiku Abubakar could dump the African Democratic Congress (ADC) if ex-President Goodluck Jonathan decides to join the party.

Speaking on Politic HQ on News Central, Odeyemi described the ADC as “Atiku’s Disciples Congress,” claiming the party has effectively become a political platform dominated by the former vice president’s loyalists.

According to him, the ADC’s current alignment with Atiku could be a “political trap” for any presidential aspirant seeking to use the party as a platform.

“ADC is essentially Atiku’s Disciples Congress—he moved his people there,” Odeyemi said. “If any presidential hopeful joins the ADC now, that will likely be the end of their political ambitions within the party.”

Odeyemi also suggested that strategic missteps have hindered Atiku’s chances in past elections.

“If Atiku had been strategic enough to choose Peter Obi as his running mate earlier, he would probably have been president by now,” he said. “If he had taken a decisive stand, the former PDP National Chairman, Iyorchia Ayu, would have been removed as demanded by the G-5 governors.”

The former PDP spokesman concluded by saying: “If Jonathan joins the ADC, Atiku will leave—just take that from me.”
