Troops of the Nigerian Army’s 6 Brigade, under Sector 3 of Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS), have killed two terrorists and seized weapons during a counter-terrorism operation in Taraba State.
Acting Deputy Director of Army Public Relations, 3 Division, Lt. Col. Aliyu Danja, confirmed the development in a statement on Tuesday. He explained that the operation was launched on September 15 after credible intelligence revealed a planned attack on Chanchanji community by the Bojo terrorist group.
According to him, soldiers intercepted the attackers along the Demeva–Chanchanji road, where one terrorist was neutralized and others forced to flee. A follow-up pursuit led the troops to the Demeva–Gbudu axis, an alleged escape route into Ananum community in Donga LGA, where another terrorist was gunned down during an exchange of fire.
Recovered items from the two encounters include a G3 rifle, 16 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, and a motorcycle.

Gen. Uwa further urged residents to stay alert and share timely intelligence with security agencies, stressing that civilian cooperation is crucial to restoring lasting peace.
